About Swansea Tribology Services

STS started life as part of the tribology research centre at Swansea University, activities of which also included development of test methods and equipment. Later STS developed into a stand-alone commercial laboratory. Recent acquisition by Oil Analysis Services brought vital investment and access to additional expertise and equipment at OAS.

Mervin Jones, the founder of STS, continues to provide his expertise in an advisory position – an invaluable addition to our knowledge bank with over 40 years of experience in the field of Tribology and oil analysis.

Our Experience
Our oil analysis labs are managed by teams of highly skilled and dedicated people who between them have a wealth of experience in insulating and lubrication oil analysis. Both managers of the labs have over 30 years experience in the industry and the rest of the team have a considerable range of expertise between them.
